Worship

What is worship?

The simplest definition of worship comes from Psalm 29. "Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness" (v. 2). Worship is more than just a church service or a genre of Christian music. It is living a life that gives glory and value to God with every thought, word, and deed.  One of the ways you can worship God with your life is by gathering with a local church family for corporate worship.

When does PBC gather for worship?

We gather each Sunday for worship at 9:00 & 10:45 a.m. Both services are identical, so please come to whichever works best for you.  Our church's building is located at 1611 W Reynolds St, Pontiac, IL.

What are the services like and what should I wear?

Our worship consists of singing, prayer, preaching, giving, and Communion. We have a variety of musicians, including drums, guitar, bass, and keyboard. As to what you should wear, simply come in what you are comfortable wearing.  Some dress up on Sunday mornings, others come casual. There is no dress code.

Is there anything for my kids on Sunday morning?

For infants - 2 years old, we offer a friendly nursery staffed with caring volunteers. Beginning in pre-school and going through elementary, we have Kidzone classes appropriate for each age group. For junior and senior high students, a class called EQUIP meets during the 9:00 a.m. service. Families are also welcome to sit together in worship; if you would rather bring your kids with you into the worship service, that's fine!
