OUR BELIEFS

WHAT WE BELIEVE

The Bible

We believe that the whole Bible is the Word of God, inspired by Him and completely accurate in the original manuscripts. It is complete, enduring forever. The Bible is our supreme and final authority over every area of life and godliness. We further believe that the Holy Spirit illuminates the Word of God, making it clear to the sincere readers and hearers of the Word.

God, the Father

We believe in God, the Father: an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

God, the Son

We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten, virgin-born Son of God. We believe that He became man and was the only sinless One among men without ceasing to be God. We believe that Jesus died, was buried, and rose again for the redemption of man. We believe in the physical, bodily ascension of Jesus Christ into heaven where He intercede on our behalf and awaits His personal, visible return.

God, the Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is eternally one of the Godhead. He indwells every believer at the moment of salvation. We believe that the Holy Spirit is a spirit who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgement. He is the supernatural agent in regeneration, baptizing all believers into the body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them unto the day of redemption.

Regeneration

We believe all men were created in the image of God, but man fell from fellowship with Him through disobedience (sin). Now, under God’s condemnation, we find ourselves unable to help ourselves. We believe God has made provision for our salvation in the substitutionary atonement of Christ taking our place in his voluntary death on the cross. The results of salvation through Christ are freedom from guilt, penalty, and power of sin.

The Church

We believe in the universal Church: a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and all regenerated persons are members. We believe in the local church, consisting of a company of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized on a credible confession of faith, associated for worship, work, and fellowship. We believe that God has laid upon the members of the local church the primary task of giving the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world.

The Ordinances

We believe that Christ instituted two ordinances for believers to observe until He returns: baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Those professing faith in Jesus Christ as their Savior will be encourage to testify of their faith and commitment through baptism by immersion. The Lord’s Supper was instituted by Christ for the commemoration of His death. We believe that these two ordinances should be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
