1 Peter 3:13-16 Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good?  But even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled,  but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,  having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.

The Big Picture

Do you like sharing your faith with others? Or does it feel really strange and maybe a little bit scary?

If you’re honest, sharing your faith with someone probably doesn’t feel like the easiest thing to do. You might be scared that others will think you’re weird if you share your faith or maybe that someone will stop liking you if you do.  The fear of rejection can often far outweigh the actual act of sharing our faith.

Regardless of our fears, today’s verse shows us that we should be ready to share our faith with others. We never know when a friend might need encouragement. Or when a neighbor might need prayer. We should always be ready to explain why we believe in Jesus and why there is hope in Jesus.  There is a reason that the mission of PBC is “to bring the transforming HOPE of Jesus to Livingston County and the world.”  Hope is what draws us to Jesus.  Love is what experience because of Jesus.  The gospel means everything.  Without the good news of Jesus, there is no good news.

How To Pray

  • Pray for evangelistic opportunities, opportunities to talk to someone, anyone about Jesus.

  • Pray that God would reach the next generation of believers through us and that He would see fit to expand His Kingdom through us because we are His ambassadors.

  • Pray for godly families where parents are teaching the next generation and bringing them up to love God with all their heart, soul, mind and strength.

  • Pray for God to open the floodgates of His salvation in 2021. That 2021 will the the year of the Return of the King!
